    Work Isn’t Working for Ontario Families: The Role of Good Jobs in Ontario’s Poverty Reduction Strategy was released on Monday, May 12 in Toronto. The report, co-authored by Campaign 2000, the Toronto & York Region Labour Council and the Canadian Labour Congress, provides details on the role of the labour market in family poverty and recommendations for Ontario’s Poverty Reduction Strategy.     May 2008 is the 60th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba. As part of international efforts to mark the displacement of the Palestinian people, there will be a mock refugee camp at the Manitoba Legislature in Winnipeg from the evening of May 15 to the morning of May 16. There will be speeches from 5:30 pm; workshops, live performances and food from 6:30 pm; film screenings from 9 pm; and camping from 11 pm to 9 am. People are asked to bring their own camping equipment. The event is sponsored by Canada-Palestinian Support Network and a broad coalition of local organizations and individuals.     Brick by Brick: Building Labour Solidarity with Palestine is a conference for trade union and labour movement activists interested in building solidarity with Palestinian workers. The conference, organized by the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid, is on May 30 and June 1 at the Steelworkers Hall in Toronto. The conference will feature speakers on the current situation for Palestinian workers and international efforts to build the boycott, divestment, and sanction campaign against Israel.
